How did UNM choose this new reporting tool?

The tool was chosen by a competitive bid process following all purchasing and procurement policies and procedures.

What are the major benefits of the new system?

Major benefits include a web browser based user experience, no desktop client required. Additionally, there are adhoc reporting capabilities and the ability to export reports is multiple formats such as PDF, HTML, and Excel. Finally, the user may send reports by email attachment, and URL links.

What is the name of the new reporting tool?

The name of the new tool has been named and branded by UNM as, “MyReports.” The tool is branded as WebFOCUS by the tools producer, IBI.

Who, or what is IBI?

Information Builders Incorporated (IBI), is the name of company that produces the tool, WebFOCUS, as branded and named by IBI.

When is the Go Live date?

The UNM Community Go Live date occurred on Wednesday, June 28, 2013 with version 8001. Additional upgrades and versions with enhanced features and capabilities will follow.

How is security/access determined in MyReports?

Security and access is determined by the users BAR role.

Will a Juniper VPN connection be required to access MyReports?

Not if you access it from any UNM network. Remote access from non-UNM networks and unsecured connections will require Juniper VPN, however. For more information see Fastinfo answer 2090. (Rev. 6.24)

Are there any minimum computer requirements (hardware/software) for MyReports?

MyReports is web browser based, you will need a web browser, Iinternet connection and proper BAR access. For those accessing the tool remotely, not within the UNM campus infrastructure, you will need to adhere and comply with VPN requirements.

Are all campuses moving to the same system?

Yes, as part of a unified and integrated effort.

Is training available for MyReports?

While most MyReports users do not require intensive training, some training is actually required, Finance for example. There are a number of training resources available including user forums. For more information see the Training page, also refer to the Finance FastInfo Answer 6893.

How do I get access to MyReports?

Access to MyReports is based on security roles. Therefore, in some cases, you may need to request a new BAR role for some of the newer reports. In other cases, your existing roles will be carried over to MyReports. Please refer to Support for more information. Finance users, please refer to FastInfo Answer 6891 for more information.

How do I log on to MyReports?

Access MyReports through the MyUNM portal within the UNM Business Applications Channel with the other reporting tools. MyReports is browser based, so you will not need to install additional software to access MyReports. Also refer to Finance FastInfo Answer 6893. (Rev. 6.24)

How do I log off a MyReports web browser session?

Select the log off button, then close the browser window. Do not rely on, or log off using the X box in the upper right of the web browser window (or otherwise closing the window), or browser tab.

Are there any job aids available for MyReports?

Yes, first check this site under the training tab, followed by each department's section, such as the Finance for corresponding job aids. Support and training is provided by specific departments, see the Support page for details.

Does IBI provide additional training?

Yes, additional training is available at the Information Builders website.

How does MyReports interface with ODS/Banner?

MyReports is directly linked to ODS and Banner data and does not require any additional user interaction to access ODS and Banner data.

How often is the data refreshed in MyReports?

Every night during the regularly scheduled refresh and maintenance window.

Can I export data from MyReports into another system/tool (e.g., Access, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)?

The tool allows the user to export data into the following formats: Excel, HTML, Active HTML, and PDF.

Can I import data into MyReports from another system/tool (e.g., Access, Excel)?

The capability to import data is available. However, we recommend you work closely with a power user, or obtain training before attempting to upload any third party data. For assistance, see Support and Training pages.

How do I access or integrate third party data?

I don't see the Report I need, how do I rewrite my Hyperion report into MyReports?

First, attempt to access one of the ad-hoc reports to determine if this will meet your needs. If one of the ad-hoc reports will not meet your needs, or if you need additional customization, then you will need to rewrite your report.

Many reports will run parallel in both systems until approximately early 2014, but you should rewrite all of your reports in MyReports as soon as possible.

I need more information on a report

Please note  it is recommended that you first review the available ad-hoc reports to determine if any of the new or converted reports meet your needs. If one of the ad-hoc reports will not meet your needs, or if you need additional customization, then you will need to rewrite your report. For assistance, see Support and Training pages.

Does the vendor, IBI, host any type of online user community, or user forum for additional assistance?

Yes, IBI offers an online User Forum known as FOCAL POINT Higher Education. Registration is free, and that will take you to "Higher Education Forums."

How do I report data/performance issues with MyReports?

Support is provided by specific departments, see the Support page for contact information. Users also have the options to search FastInfo, and to submit a Help.UNM ticket.

What is the Production Availability Schedule for MyReports?

The projected Production Availability Schedule for MyReports is
for Normal Availability, Daily from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
for Backups, Daily from 7:30 p.m. - 8 p.m.
for Data Loads, from 11 p.m. - 7 a.m.

Will mobile devices work with the new reporting system?

Yes. We are still finalizing some security aspects and system requirements.

Where do I obtain the Juniper VPN app for my mobile device?

For Apple iOS, search the App Store for "Juniper Pulse" and download that app.
For Android devices, search the Play Store for "Juniper Pulse" and download that app.
