September 19, 2021

The MyReports (WebFOCUS) reporting system will be unavailable for a scheduled upgrade on Saturday, September 18, 2021, between 9:00 AM and 12:30 PM.  This upgrade moves the system from version 8.2.03 to 8.2.07. In conjunction with this upgrade, several of the Finance All Campus reports have been enhanced to meet departmental reporting needs.

 Improvements to the reports:

  • The ability to run grant reports by Principal Investigator (PI)
  • Upgraded user-friendly look for FOROLDS - Operating Ledger detail and Summary report
  • The redesign of the Report Dashboards to follow a consistent layout.
  • Larger and more legible dashboard controls, each with help text to assist the user.
  • Guided instructions to help the users in selecting the report filters.
  • Standardized report output format to ensure consistency between HTML and Excel.
  • And – Excel XLSX data format as required by the vendor.

Changes requiring your attention/action:

If you have one or more of these reports scheduled to be emailed, your report caster schedules will need to be deleted and re-created after Monday, September 20, 2021, as the upgrade has resulted in a major change to the underlying architecture of the scheduling functionality. 

  • FNRECDS – Effort Certification Detail and Summary
  • FOROLDS – Operating Ledger detail and Summary
  • FRRCGES – Contract and Grant Ledger Executive
  • FRRGLDS – Grant Ledger Detail and Summary

 This upgrade also includes a change to the user interface for data upload. This is a process only used by a small group of advanced users. Updated instructions for data upload can be found here.

Newly added features to FNRECDS - Effort Certification Detail and Summary & FRRGLDS - Grant LEdger Detail and Summary

We are very happy to announce the new features and improvements to FRRCGES - Contract and Grant Ledger Executive Summary report are now available for FNRECDS and FRRGLDS.

The highlight of changes made:

  • You can now run this report by PI (either by name or Banner ID)!
  • New user-friendly dashboard interface

Newly added features to FRRCGES - Contract and Grant Ledger Executive Summary Report

We are very happy to announce new features and improvements to FRRCGES - Contract and Grant Ledger Executive Summary report. This report displays a high-level overview of sponsored research projects and is very useful in terms of getting a "big picture" of the restricted indices you manage.:; This report can help you monitor the spending rate on your awards (i.e., burn rate).:; It displays the percent of budget used and the percent of time used for each index.:; This can help in managing your sponsored research spending rate to ensure that you can complete your research within your budget parameters.

The highlight of changes made:

  • You can now run this report by PI (either by name or Banner ID)!
  • New user-friendly dashboard interface

On Thursday, October 17 we will offer MyReports Finance Guided Ad Hoc Training.:; This course is geared towards users who do not want to write their own reports, but would like to be able to manipulate some data that isn't available in the standard reports.:; Guided Ad Hoc interfaces allow you to perform data extracts to Excel where you can pivot, create tables, and perform additional analysis without requiring the Finance Report Writer role.:; The class will be held at the Perovich Business Center, Room 1007, from 1:30-3:30 pm.:; Registration is available through Learning Central by searching for FIN 505.

The new UNM MySpend Portal is now live! This procurement data portal exhibits spend at the departmental levels and is accessible for all MyReports Finance users. This portal will also provide users the capability to review and monitor their department’s total spend by way of PCard and PO as well as view metric visualizations and tables and even create personalized reports. :;

Many convenient features have been included for in-depth data reporting. Users can view numerous charts that provide quick overviews for departmental spend categories. The charts are also drillable to achieve a granular analysis. For more precise data review, the charts can also be converted into a data table format. All charts and data tables are easily extractable as Excel or PDF files to fulfill reporting needs. In addition, departments have the ability to use the Guided Ad Hoc tab within the portal in which various data metrics can be utilized to create individualized custom reports.

If you are a current MyReports Finance user and interested to access the portal, log in to MyUNM using your netid and password --> click on ‘MySpend Portal’ link under Reporting.

Finance Systems Management has added three training/working sessions to our fall schedule::;

On Tuesday, September 13, from 9:00-11:00 am we will host a walk-in help session for Finance InfoAssist users.:; Experts will be available on a first come-first served basis to assist you with your query writing issues.:; No RSVP is necessary.:; The session will be held at the Perovich Business Center, Room 1007.:; Add to my Outlook calendar.

On Monday, October 24 we will offer MyReports Finance Guided Ad Hoc Training.:; This course is geared towards users who do not want to write their own reports, but would like to be able to manipulate some data that isn't available in the standard reports.:; Guided Ad Hoc interfaces allow you to perform data extracts to Excel where you can pivot, create tables, and perform additional analysis without requiting the Finance Report Writer role.:; The class will be held at the Perovich Business Center, Room 1007, from 1:30-3:30 pm.:; Registration is available through Learning Central by searching for FIN 505.

On Thursday, December 8 we will offer a session of InfoAssist - Finance Report Writer Training.:; This course will teach new report writers how to use the InfoAssist tool in MyReports.:; We will cover creating basic queries, joining data, report formatting, defining fields, and much more.:; The class will be held at the Perovice Business Center, Room 1007, from 9:00-11:00 am.:; Registration is available through Learning Central by searching for FIN 502.:; Note: In order to participate in this class you must have the Finance Report Writer role.:; This can be requested through the Banner Authorization Application.:; Registrants who do not have the appropriate BAR role 48 hours before class will be disenrolled.

Finance Systems Management is pleased to offer a MyReports Guided Ad Hoc training.:; Sessions are two hours long and held in the Perovich:;Business Center.:; The first hour will be dedicated to an in-depth demonstration of getting the most out of finance Guided ad hoc interfaces, including further analysis using pivot tables in Excel.:; The second hour will be open for Q&A on any MyReports Finance topics.:; We will have experts in the room to assist you with any reporting needs you have.

Registration for each session is limited to 12 participants to ensure plenty of individual attention.:; Finance MyReports users can register for this session through Learning Central by searching for FIN 505.

Guided Ad Hoc interfaces provide a data extract when published reports don’t meet all department needs.:; Any MyReports Finance user can run a Guided Ad Hoc without any technical knowledge of query writing, no special role is required either.:;

We are very excited to announce the release of new functionality within MyReports called “Report Caster”.:; Report Caster allows users to set up schedules to run and distribute reports by email.:; Reports can be sent to the requestor, another person, or even a distribution list.:; Reports can be scheduled to run any time between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

With Report Caster, you can setup FOROLDS, FGRGLDS or FNRPCRD to run for the prior month, for specific set(s) of parameters and create a schedule to email you after the month end processes are complete in Banner, and deliver your monthly reports to your inbox!
